Office 2010 Has been leaked!
May 18th
A few days ago i was writing about the Technical Preview of Office 2010
Well here it is ![]()
The Technical Preview of Office 2010 has officially leaked! WZor.net uploaded a torrent a few hoursago for both the x86 and x64 versions of the new Office suite.
Without further ado, I present:
AND
The x64 torrent doesn’t seem to be very active at the moment, but over time, as it gains more seeders, hopefully it will pick up. We were achieving speeds of up to 1000kbps during our download of the x86 version, so the torrent is going strong… That is, until the rest of the world picks up on it… Download quickly!
While you eagerly await the end of your download, check out a screenshot gallery from WZor as well (the version pictured in the screenshots is the x64 version).
After playing with it for a few minutes, we noticed a few new features.
PowerPoint:
- The ability to easily broadcast a live slideshow from within PowerPoint.
- The ability to record a slideshow from within PowerPoint.
- Animations to objects can now be done within the ribbon, instead of in the old-styled panel.
- Tons of brand-new slide transitions.
- The new full-screen menu that’s in all the new office applications (opening recent documents, print formatting, sharing, etc.)
- A tool that takes screenshots of your open applications, and with the click of the mouse, you can automatically import them; great for making tutorials, etc.
Word:
- Automatic Caption Maker
- Citation Maker
- The new full-screen menu that’s in all the new office applications (opening recent documents, print formatting, sharing, etc.)
More features to come!

The Pirate Bay must pay half of their fees now
May 15th
The Pirate Bay is having a bad time after losing the court case about cop
yright infringement, and the threat of spending up to a year behind bars due to the massive public torrent web site. The debt collectors now wants nearly half of the money owed (out of the $3.6 million US owed) soon, or the four web site owners could face stiffer penalties.
The owners behind The Pirate Bay may see bank accounts frozen if the money is not paid soon, putting The Pirate Bay in a rough spot, especially if they cannot afford to pay their monthly server fees to keep the web site online.
The site rejected peoples offer to help pitch in to pay for the legal fees, stating that they do not want people’s money, and do not intend to pay their fine. Perhaps TPB may need to revisit this possibility after the defendants claimed they do not have the money, but pay server fees and hardware upgrade costs.
Currently a higher Swedish court is looking into the possibility of a retrial after the judge’s conflict of interest was raised shortly after the trial ended. As for now, the four owners do not seemed worried, as Kolmisoppi put his letter through the paper shredder as soon as he received the threat.

FRE3.com – The best free hosting for developers
May 10th
Hello @ all !
Maybe you think i’m advertising right now. Well, not quite. I just want to express my opinion about the guys from FRE3.com, a hosting company that offers free hosting for developers. They service is even better then paid hosting, offering practically everything you want for hosting your site.
I found out about them when i searched with almighty Google for free hosting for my tools and site. I mailed them and very quickly had my site up and running. The customer support is one thing i have to underline, because they are offering the solution for every problem you encounter when hosting your site. In one word (well, maybe more
) they are offering everything you need to host your site just in time.
All in all, if you are a software developer and do not have hosting for your tools and/or site, i strongly advise you to contact FRE3.com because they simply rule in this domain.
Best of luck, Iuli.
A trip to middle of nowhere …
May 9th
As you may know, Romania has one of the greatest landscapes in the world, which i’m really proud of. So, why not, if i have a free day, to take advantage of that and escape, for a few hours, of the urban atmosphere and the everyday routine.
It all started Tuesday, on 5th May, when the educational system in Romania had a free day due to teachers strike and protests. Anyway, it all begun like a normal day, with the same morning coffee and the same routine. But the routine was cracked by a phone call from my friend, Mihai, who proposed me that trip. Firstly, i hesitated, invoking tiredness and the fact that it would be late to leave at that hour. After he insisted, i finally gave up and gave him a possitive answer.
Our final target was a mountainous region, known as Bulzestii de Jos, which was about 28 km far from my town. All in all, we took our bikes plus two more mates, leaving the town at about 12 PM.
The trip was fine, a bit exhausting, but damn nice
. It wasn’t enough for a few rain drops to make us return, even though our clothes were a bit wet. In way to Bulzesti, there is the second natural bridge in the world, referring to size, known as Podul Grohotului (“The Bridge of Grohot”
.Practically, it is a huge rock between two hills crossed by a river, with a hole in it, to allow the water pass through it.
Also, the view from the top of it is incredible, giving you that feeling of freedom and making you believe that you can really fly ![]()
Anyway, it wasn’t time to stay, because our final target was Bulzesti, 5 more km from Podul Grohotului.
At about 3:45 PM we reached Bulzesti, after trip of almost 4 hours on bike. Some rain drops were still falling down, but we succeded to make the fire and cook some food for our hungry stomachs. After a fast snack, we just rested, because a trip back to town was inevitable. Also, we had some technical problems with our bikes
, but finally they got fixed.
Leaving at 7 PM, we reached our home at 10 PM, after 3 ours of intensive pedaling. All in all, this trip was the best this year and i can’t wait to return back one day ![]()
Waiting for comments, Iuli.
